Impermax

The basis for the Krypton waterproofing solution for any application is a coloured liquid polyurethane product called Impermax. Together with the relevant primer, and geo-textile where appropriate, Impermax provides the ultimate, self-levelling, cold applied waterproof membrane. Mixing thixotrophy additive with the Impermax removes the self-levelling properties and enables application to slopes and upstands, Impermax has BBA certification (No. 09/4674), European Technical Approval (ETA no 06/0263) with both 10-year and 25-year guarantee.

The primer required will depend on the type of substrate but is always recommended in preparation for the first layer of Impermax. Primers typically take 2-6 hours to cure but this can be halved by the addition of Humidity Primer accelerant, 1-2 hours.

Geomax is a layer of geo-textile available in 1.5m and 1m roll widths which is applied on wet first layer of Impermax as a reinforcement, Two further coats of Impermax are then applied to complete the 25 year system.

Quartz sand/granules may also be applied in conjunction with Colodur as decorative and anti-slip top-coats.

Impermax and Impermax Aqua can be used in any application where approval for contact with drinking water is required according to EEC Directive 98/8/CE, for example in water tanks, reservoirs, ponds etc.

Impertrans is a transparent version of Impermax and ideal if a clear, waterproof membrane is required where the visual appearance of any underlying tiles, mosaics etc needs to be maintained.

Impermax has APPLUS certification for the resistance to root penetration, making it suitable for waterproofing green roofs.

Impermax is cold-applied usually with a brush, roller or airless spray. Typically taking 24 hours to cure before the next coat can be applied, Pur-Cat additive can be mixed in with the Impermax and applied immediately to reduce this time to 6 hours.

The following substrate checks must be performed;

1. Verify substrate resistance to 1.5n/mm¹

2. Ensure substrate is sufficiently cleaned- free of contaminants, e.g. grease, oil. Dust etc

A brand new development is Impermax 2K which is a two-component, 1:1, hot-spray applied waterproof membrane, touch dry in 15 seconds and can be applied horizontal and vertical at 2kg/m² in one application.
