The 10 year BBA & ETA approved system is for primer plus 2 coats of Impermax. Reinforcement by fleece is not required other than in damaged areas of the substrate and to reinforce the base of up-stands. The 25 year system incorporates a fleece requirement and an additional 1Kg m/² Impermax coating.
Can Impermax absorb movements in substrates?
Impermax is a BBA approved system stretching up to 400%, therefore significant movements in the building can be absorbed.
What colours is Impermax available in?
Stock colours available are Dark Grey & Black. However Impermax can be manufactured in almost any RAL colour, minimum batch size is 1000kg
If the project requires a particular colour then we advise the simple application of the single component PU top coats Colodur, with the appropriate colour pigment added.
Does my roofing insulation need to be upgraded?
Repairing a roofing structure can seem a daunting process; however Krypton Chemicals offers an easy, hassle free roof repair option.
Impermax can be applied and fully installed without the need to remove the existing roof. Roofing insulation does not require to be upgraded to legally conform to current building regulations. Therefore it gives you the option to weigh up the pros and cons to upgrading you roofing insulation. If upgrading your thermal insulation is a project requirement, the available system is recommended;

Does the old roof need to be stripped?
A number of considerations must be analysed in order to answer the above question…
Krypton Chemicals has designed a highly adaptable waterproofing resin… Impermax, which is compatible with both PU and Humidity Primers. In the typical of cases there is no need to strip the existing roof. With the aid of the correct primer Impermax totally adheres to the substrate moulding over all fissures, coating with a tight waterproofing membrane. Impermax holds 400% elongation and flex’s to the movement of the roof, while providing a breathable waterproof membrane.
To correct accurate installation the substrate must be comprehensively cleaned of all debris and containments. Geomax fleece must be used to cover all fissures and the base of up-stands; due to the light weight nature of this membrane the roofing substrate does not require additional structural support.
Is there a non-slip, hard wearing coating option?
For the requirements of hard wearing, high point load resistant or anti-slip surfaces, such as indoor tennis courts or car parks. Krypton Chemicals offers a wide range of non-slip, wear resistant top coating selections, available in any RAL colour, and numerous textures and finishing's.
Are product presentations available?

Why Use Cold- Applied For repair?
Impermax is a cold applied liquid resin, providing a cost effective waterproof membrane. There are many advantages to using the cold applied Impermax, as summarised below;
- Cost Effective
- Non - Flammable
- Permeable to water vapour (allows vapour to escape from substrate)
- Low Maintenance
- Highly Durable
- No additional substrate structural reinforcement is required
- Holds BBA & ETA approval
- A solvent free formulation is available
What is Cold- applied Liquid Waterproofing?
Historically the most common method for waterproofing a flat roof was "hot-applied" I.e. torched molten bitumen, melted to create a waterproof membrane.
However with modern technology and chemical developments "cold-applied" has no direct fire risk as this method involves the use of cold liquid resin seamlessly coat to intertwine the substrate with the rapid curing waterproof membrane.
Will Impermax Melt in the hot weather?
Impermax is totally non-thermoplastic, it will not melt, bubble even in the hottest Mediterranean or Middle Eastern sun shine.
What are the typical project costs when using Impermax?
Impermax is an extremely cost effective waterproofing resin that provides long term performance.
Calculating the typical project costs can be tricky. Impermax not only providse long-term benefits but also reduces the installation and labour costs. Impermax has BBA & ETA approved carrying either a 10 or 25 year guarantee.
For detailed project costing please contact Krypton Chemicals, but on the whole when comparing Impermax against re-roofing costs and other waterproof roofing systems Impermax is significantly cheaper option, especially if we tailor in labour costs, installation time. In many cases Impermax can be coated directly over the existing system.
